Sono Collective

Workshops & Training

Our workshops combine political education, lived experience, and practical organising strategy. We work with universities, NGOs, grassroots movements, and international networks to strengthen climate justice action across continents.

Funding Note

Participation often requires speakers to cover internet, transport, and communication costs, and to take time away from paid work. We request speaker fees and reimbursements to ensure equitable Global South participation and sustainable collaboration.

Workshop Themes

Hidden Costs of the Energy Transition

Examining mineral extraction in the Congo Basin and the social, ecological, and labor impacts behind batteries and renewable technologies.

Just Transition in Global South Contexts

Reframing climate policy through equity, redistribution, and community-led development rather than market-driven solutions.

Gender & Climate Justice

Analyzing how climate injustice intersects with gender inequality and highlighting women-led resistance movements.

Climate Mobility & Displacement Rights

A rights-based perspective on environmental displacement, migration policy, and climate securitization narratives.

Our Approach

  • Our training blends lived experience with movement strategy. Sessions are interactive, story-driven, and designed to support organisers working across power differences and geopolitical realities.

    • Frontline Testimony: Centering lived realities from communities directly impacted by extractivism and fossil expansion.
    • Power & Corporate Analysis: Mapping financial systems, multinational corporations, and global supply chains shaping climate injustice.
    • Organising Skill-Building: Strengthening cross-border collaboration, accountability practices, and campaign strategy.
    • Interactive Group Learning: Dialogue-based sessions using case studies, storytelling, and collective reflection.
